Wow. We just got to eat for the first time about 9:30 tonight. That was really something. The lactation consultant was very impressed that we each were able to latch on and nurse on the first try. Mommy was very pleased and Daddy was proud of us.
We are in the NICU now, but we are doing so great. We have lots of monitors hooked up to show the nurses and doctors how strong we are. We are breathing great and we cry when anybody pokes us with needles. We are on some IV fluids and feeding just to keep our strength up, but otherwise we haven’t needed much intervention.
Mommy and Daddy held us for an hour tonight, then went back to Mommy’s room to get a little sleep. We have scheduled another feeding for midnight, then three a.m, and so on.
Daddy took pictures of both of us tonight in our beds. We are going to post them in just a few minutes, then we are going to sleep until time to eat again.
